What’s next for the public sector?
If you have ideas about reimagining the public sector after the unprecedented federal actions in 2025, we want to hear from you.
-
Do you want to share insights and experiences from your work in service to the public?
-
How do we rebuild the public sector using innovative strategies that can sustain impact?
-
What are your ideas for funding critical public sector work?
-
Are there effective communication strategies we can use to better engage Americans in the value of public sector work?

The Public Sector Public Service Announcement (PSPSA) project is a nonpartisan, unfunded, volunteer-driven effort to raise the voices of those who have worked in the public sector, to tell their story and contribute ideas for creating a future roadmap for the public sector, while potentially preserving the legacy of your work. For clarity, public sector work is funded primarily by the government (federal, tribal, state, county, city) to serve members of the public rather than for profit or to advance commercial purposes.

We want to hear from all corners of the public sector, from environmental protection and food security to youth development and violence prevention, from research to practice, serving the wide range of communities within the U.S. and those (formerly) served by the U.S. outside our country.
-
The goal of this work is to use the experiences and insights from public sector professionals to better engage local communities, future voters, and alternative funders to support critical public sector work.

The survey is anonymous, voluntary, and confidential. There is no cost to take the survey, and no compensation if you complete the survey.

Whether or not you decide to complete the survey yourself, please help us connect with anyone else you know that has been active in public sector work. Share this survey with anyone you know who works/worked in the public sector.
